Hospital attendants described her condition as satisfactory and said she was "holding her own" this morning. Authorities said W. Bowden McCullars, 55, of Lineville, Rt. 2, killed himself with a double barrel shotgun after firing three times at his estranged wife 52, wounding her in the body with the third shot Mrs. McCullars, who had been separated from her husband since Christmas, officers said, was taken to the hospital by her 19- year-old son with whom she lived. Officers said Mr. McCullars had made a previous attempt to shoot his wife several months ago. Ashland Progress: Last rites for Mr. William B. McCuller will be held today at New Harmony Church at 11:00 o'clock, Blair in charge. McCuller died from a shot in the mouth. His wife was also shot and seriously wounded. She is improving at County Hospital, with a good chance of recovering. The shooting occurred in the Dingier Chapel community in Randolph County. Up to this time we have been unable to get an official statement on the shooting.
