Birmingham News December 24, 1904
Special to The Birmingham News. ASHLAND, Ala., Dec. 27. In a Christmas eve 
quarrel near Wesobulga, nine miles west of this place, Tom Waldrop has been shot 
and killed by George Hanners, both men being farmers. During the row, which is 
reported to have been general between several men, Hanners is said to have fired 
five shots, three of them taking effect in Waldrop's body. The wounded man died 
within an hour. It Is not known whether Hanners was shooting at Waldrop, although 
it is reported that there was an old grudge between the two. Hanners left 
immediately after the shooting and has not as yet been located by the sheriff.
