The Birmingham News March 3, 1908
The six-year-old daughter of D.E. Pace of Ashland was struck in the back of the 
head by a 22-calibre bullet, which penetrated the scalp but did not enter the 
skull. The shot was about spent before it struck the child, hence the slight 
injury. It is not known who fired the shot. It evidently was the result of random 
shooting.
