He with some others escaped jail here recently for overpowering the jailer. A few weeks ago, the sheriff with a posse went to the home of Jay's father to search of him. Two bloodhounds were carried. When the posse had almost surrounded the house one of the men saw Jay go out at a window, he called to his companions. The dogs were released and in the chase the dogs ran off with Jay supposing he was after someone. Finally, the sheriff got one of the dogs back. The other is still gone. A reward of $25.00 was then offered for the escaped man. Once since that time it is said, he was seen by officer working at a still. Word was received Saturday that he was hiding in the woods near Cragford which led to his capture. The officers repassed they had a lively chase. Robinson is now confined in the county jail on several charges, among them being that of adultery. Court is in session here, but last week was criminal week. It is probable that his case will receive special attention as he is an undesirable prisoner and will be given a trial this week. The reward was paid to two men living near Cragford who gave the information leading to his capture.
