Relatives and friends of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Shaddix met at the Concord 
Baptist Church Sunday for their annual reunion. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Shaddix were 
among the early founders of this church, and it was considered most fitting that 
the descendants return here to pay tribute to the memory of this outstanding 
couple, sponsors said. Approximately 150 friends and relatives enjoyed the all-
day reunion, a delicious meal was enjoyed at the church during the noon hour. 
The people enjoyed group singing during the afternoon. Friends of the late Mr. 
and Mrs. Shaddix made statements of tribute to them during the afternoon 
session. The children present were: Lindsey Shaddix and Mrs. Shaddix Rt 3. 
Goodwater; Dewey Shaddix and Mrs. Shaddix. Gadsden. L. Shaddix and Mrs. Shaddix. 
Rt. 3 Lineville; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Shaddix, Bynum; J. C. Shaddix, Birmingham; 
G. C. Shaddix. Bynum; Mrs. J. M. Anders and Dr. Anders, Jacksonville. All the 
children who are living except two were present. The grandchildren present were 
Mr. Denver Shaddix, Miss Dona Shaddix, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Sims and family, Mrs. 
Eva Carter and children, Mrs. J. A. Burnett. Mrs. R. M. Walker. Mr. and Mrs. 
Lewis Hawkins, Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Shaddix and children, Earlie Shaddix, Mr. 
and Mrs. Mike Dorato, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Lavelle Gray and 
Lynda Joe, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Corvette. Mr. H. H. Shaddix and children, Mr. and 
Mrs. Clyde Blachard. Mr. aa Mrs. Shadix Boggs and David and Rusty Randolph. The 
friends and relatives decided to neat again in a family reunion at the concord 
Baptist Church the second Sunday in June 1958.
