Col. John A. Bush of Army emergency relief yesterday related how his organization aided in arranging for the operation, Betty Jane's father is a private first class in the Army. He has been in a hospital the past three months, Col. Bush said. When Betty Jane swallowed a rock last Sunday, her mother took her to a physician in Anniston, who advised that she be brought to Atlanta for an operation. Army emergency relief was contacted, and Col. Bush assured the mother that hospital bills and other expenses would be provided.
