Lineville Headlight September 24, 1931
On Sunday September 13, 1931, there was a family reunion and birthday dinner 
combined, held at Jas. J. Smith home near Delta. Mr. Smith and two of his sons. 
Cooper ana Herbert have birthdays close together, so they held a reunion in 
celebration of all three birthdays. There were a large crowd present and that 
day was enjoyed by all but the most important evert of the day was the bountiful 
meal served at the noon hour. All those who had not already taken part in the 
good times that were being had joined in at this time and made the joy of the 
occasion unanimous. In the afternoon Mr. Smith and several of his boys made 
music which was enjoyed by everyone present. Those present were as follows: Mr. 
Cooper Smith and Mr. Layton of New Orleans, Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Dempsey of 
Pyriton, Mr. and Mrs. Leldon Smith of Lineville, Mr. said Mrs. Calvin Smith and 
Mr. Sardis Shaddix of Delta, Mr. Herbert Smith Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Dempsey and 
Mr. and Mrs. Grady Dempsey of Anniston, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Dempsey and son Fred 
of Blue Mountain Miss Edna Smith of Lagrange, Ga., Mrs. Pitts and son, Bloise of 
Delta, Mr. and Mrs. Claudous Smith of Weaver and Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Dempsey of 
Ashland.
