Mr. Calvin Thomas went some distance from the house and shouldered a heavy piece of wood to cut up for his morning fire, as he reached the wood pile, he failed to observe that his three-year old son was following close behind him and throwing down the log it struck the little boy on the head fracturing the skull. The child was not dead at 1 p.m. Monday, but no hope of his recovery was entertained.
