Ashland Progress
V.A.C. Alford, one of the old citizens of Almond beat, died at his home Monday 
after several days illness. He was buried Wednesday following funeral services 
held at Bethany church. Mr. Alford was a highly esteemed citizen and was for a 
long time Justice of the Peace in his precinct. He reared a large family of 
children, most of whom were with him in his last illness. His wife died several 
years ago.
