Funeral services for Harvey Norman Allen, 62, was held Saturday afternoon, Sept. 
29 at Mt, Olive Baptist Church of which he was deacon for many years. Conducting 
were Rev. A. O. Burdette, Rev. S. C. Ray, and Rev. Grady Harris with Blair 
Funeral Directors in charge Interment was in Mt. Olive New Cemetery. Mr. Allen 
died suddenly last Thursday night while sitting at the bedside of his wife who 
was a patient in Clay County Hospital. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Hassle 
Sims Allen, two sons V. L. Allen of California, L. A. Allen. Sylacauga, two 
brothers, R. V. Allen and Marion Allen of Oklahoma, four sisters, Mrs. Nettie 
Harris, Anniston, Mrs. Ludie Shaw, Misses Bessie and Eva Allen, Lineville, Rt. 
2, three grandchildren. Mr. Allen owned and operated a shoe repair shop in 
Lineville and was active until his unexpected death Thursday night.
