Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Mattie Allen, who was 84 last Wednesday, passed away Friday night at the 
home of a daughter, Mrs. Kennady, at Sikesville, where she made her home, 
following an illness of three weeks. Funeral services were held at two o'clock 
Sunday afternoon at Sikesville, with Rev. Fred Gore and Rev. Belon Friday in 
charge. Burial followed in the Motley cemetery. Survivors include Grady Allen and 
Mrs. L. T. Hodge, Mrs. Kennady and Mrs. Raymond Gregg of Sikesville, and L. Allen 
of Lineville. Mrs. Allen had many friends here, where she had visited quite 
often.
