Services for Leon Archer, 69, of Cragford will be 2 p.m. today at New Harmony 
Christian Church with Revs. Tim Tipton and Curtis Watts officiating. Burial will 
be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends at Benefield 
Funeral Home in Lineville until 1 p.m. today. The body will be at the church an 
hour prior to services. Mr. Archer died Monday at Clay County Hospital. 
Survivors include his wife, Frances C. Archer; two daughters, Joyce Rice and her 
husband, Shoney, of Ashland! and Gaynell Archer of Cragford; a son, Larry Archer 
of Cragford; three sisters, Jean Archer, Mae McCormack of Ashland and Laura Carr 
of Lineville; two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Don 
Jones, Eugene Brown, Lynn Coffey, David Coffey, Johnny Heath and Tim McVey. Mr. 
Archer, a Clay County native and lifelong resident, was a member of Mount Olive 
Baptist Church. He retired from the Kimberly Clark maintenance department.
