Anniston Star
Services for Elbert G. Archer, M, were today at New Harmony Christian Church with 
the Rev. Lawrence Pate and the Rev. Phillip Oliver. Burial was in. the adjoining 
cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville in charge. Mr. Archer died 
Sunday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearlie 
Archer of Ashland; three daughters, Mrs. Jean Archer and Mrs. Mae McCormick, both 
of Ashland, and Mrs. Laura Carr of Lineville; a son, Leon "Red" Archer of Wadley; 
nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Douglas 
McCormick, Wayne McCormick, Larry Archer, Robert Hollaway, Roger Carr and Willard 
McDonald. Mr. Archer, a Clay County native and lifelong resident, was a member of 
Shiloh Lineville Baptist Church.
