Clay County Advance
After a long illness Mr. John Avery, breathed his last at his home one-mile East 
of town on last Friday morning. He was an old citizen of Clay County, and a much-
respected man. he was a member of the Baptist church and a conscientious 
Christian. He was about 65 years old and has had failing health for many years, 
but through it he has borne with Chistian resignation, and we feel sure has gone 
to his just reward. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his death, 
among other relatives of his was Judge Phillips of this county The Advance with 
many other friends extend sympathy to the bereaved ones.
