Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Jane Bailey, 88, were held at Mellow Valley 
Baptist Church on Dec. 25th with Rev. Grady Birchfield and Rev. A. A. Jacobs 
officiating. Interment was in Mellow Valley Cemetery, directed by Blair Funeral 
Home. Active pallbearers were Darrell Dawkins, Phillip Dawkins, Junior Wood, 
Bobby Joe Wood, Howard Bailey, Bill Phipps. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of 
Mellow Valley and County Line Baptist churches. The deceased passed away at her 
home in Mellow Valley Community on Dec. 23. She is survived by six daughters, 
Mrs. Ethel Dawkins, Mrs. Lois Croley, Mrs. Ozell Wright, Mrs. Era Brewer, Mrs. 
Genelle Wright. Mrs. Irene Phipps. Five sons, Preston, Bruce, Earl, Clay ton and 
Theron Bailey; one sister, Mrs. Emma Powers.
