Ashland Progress
The Death Angle visited the home of W. E. S. Bearden last Saturday at 11:00 
o'clock and took away the beloved husband and father. Mr. Bearden had been in bad 
health for a number of months. He is survived by three daughters and two sons. 
Mr. Bearden has made his home at Erin for a number of years. Funeral services 
were held at Sardis church Sunday at 11:00 o'clock, conducted by Revs. Vickers 
and F. J. Ingram, after which interment took place in the Sardis cemetery, Blair 
directing. Pallbearers were Ernest Watts, Lee Creed, Ed and Grover Bearden, Renza 
Pace and Bud Smith.
