Bell, died at the family residence on Second Avenue, Friday morning, September 4th at 7:10 o'clock. Although she had been in ill health for many months, her death came as a surprise and a shock to the entire community. She was the daughter of Rev. Tarpley. R. Parker and wife Christine Parker, and was born in Grantville, Coweta County, Ga. October 28, 1854; removed with her parents to Alabama when about eight years of age and lived in and near Lineville until the time of her death. She was married to Mr. James A. Bell on September 30, 1873, and to this union ten children were born, nine of whom seven daughters and two sons together with her husband, survive her. The living children and Mrs. B. A. Stephens, of Lineville; Mrs. John J. Haynes, of Columbiana; Mrs. A. E. Bartlett, of Talladega; Mrs. G. R. Willingham, of Eden; Mrs. W. T. Morgan, of Tunnel Hill, Ga; Mrs. Walter Smith, of Lineville; Mrs. J. A. Dumas, of Talladega; and James T. Bell and John P. Bell, of Lineville. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren. While a young girl she united with the Methodist church, but after her marriage became a member of the Baptist church, of which she was a consistent member at the time she was called from earth to Heaven. She was a true type of Southern womanhood. Her delight was to make her home, her husband and her children happy and to this end she devoted the greater part of her life. She was a true and devoted wife, mother and companion, and will be missed from the family circle more than words can tell. The funeral services were conducted from the Lineville Baptist church Saturday morning at 10: 00 o'clock. Fitting remarks were made by Revs. C. N. James and W. T. Davis. Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery hard by to await the resurrection morning.
