Ashland Progress
Mrs. Leslie M. Bell, widow of Mr. James D. Bell was born Oct. 10, 1877, and died 
suddenly at her home at 1 o'clock on May 19th. Miss Leslie, as she was known to 
her wide circle of friends was a life-time resident of Clay County. Her love and 
thoughtfulness which she shared generously with all who knew her will be greatly 
missed. The funeral will be at the Baptist Church today (Thursday), May 21, at 2 
P. M. She is survived by one son, J. H. Bell of Poland, N.Y. and four daughters 
Mrs. C. H. Carpenter, Winter Haven, Mrs. J. W. Goodwin, Jackson, Mrs. Mary Hemby 
and Mrs. W.C. Mitchell, both of Lineville. Surviving also are eleven 
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
