Roanoke Leader
Sam Bice of Wadley Rt. 1, age 65, passed away in Randolph County Hospital at 11 
a. m. Thursday, July 20. Mr. Bice is survived by his wife, Mrs. Octava Bice; 2 
sons, Clarence Bice of Wadley Rt. 1 and Reginald Bice of Childersburg; 1 
daughter, Mrs. Christian McCrary of Birmingham; 5 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Joe 
and Nolen Bice of Alexander City and Willis and Rube Bice of Bessemer; and 2 
sisters. Mrs. Vivian Walker of Ensley and Mrs. Virgie Oliver of Talladega. 
Funeral services for Mr. Bice were conducted Friday at 3 p. m. from the Union 
Baptist Church at Motley by Rev. Herston Tapley. Burial was in the church 
cemetery, Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
