Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Mrs. Roxie Bishop, 86, was held last Tuesday, September 3, 
at Concord Church with burial in the Concord cemetery. The Rev. Sim Ingram of 
Talladega, and Rev. Martin of Heflin officiating, Brown Service of Heflin 
directing. Mrs. Bishop died Sunday night in the home of her daughter Mrs. Birt 
Harris of Heflin. She had been in ill health for some few months; she lived in 
our community all her life, and her host of friends here will miss her. She 
leaves seven daughters, one son and a host of grand-children and friends to mourn 
her death.
