Moved to Henry County, Georgia in the year 1830, to Talladega (now Clay) county. Alabama in the year 1851. She was married to James Blackstocks in 1832 and lived pleasurably and happily with him to the day of his death which occurred on the 26 day of August 1870 in Clay County, Alabama. She continued to reside, in Clay County with and amongst her children and grandchildren up to the time of her death which occur red on the 27 day of July 1992. and she was followed to her last resting place in the Ashland cemetery by a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends. Mrs. Blackstocks leaves sorrowing, her three sons, James M. Stevenson, Jefferson L. and John W. Blackstocks and a daughter Mrs. Caroline Jordan who resides now in Texas. More than a half century ago Mrs. Blackstocks was received into the communion of the. M. E. Church and has lived the life of a consistent member and humble, Christian up to the moment, until she was called to reward. Those who knew her best have every reason to hope and believe that, now freed from the sorrows, troubles and conflicts of this life. Her soul is, awaiting the resurrection of the body, when she will upon an eternity of peace and joy. A friend Died: At his home 4 miles East of Ashland, on last Monday night, Mr. Jefferson L. Blackstocks, after a long and serious illness. Mr. Blackstocks was one of Clays old residents, and leaves behind a long line of connection in the county. His remains where interred in the cemetery at this place on last Tuesday evening at 4 o'clock.
