Brooks, 76, of 701 Pace Circle, Oxford, died Wednesday at 6 p.m. at his home after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Blue Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. David Vinson officiating. Burial will be in *Shiloh Cemetery in Cleburne County, Gray Brown Service Mortuary in charge. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Julie Brooks; two daughters, Ms. Eunice Stansell and Mrs. Tula Jackson of Oxford; one son, Vinson Brooks of Oxford; two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Johnson of Birmingham and Mrs. Inez Buckhalter of Ashland; three brothers, Nolan Brooks of Texas, Jewell and Shelly Brooks of Birmingham. 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bill Crosson, Gay Smith, Bill Taylor, Arnold Paul Jackson, Bill Turley and Tilman Watwood. A native of Clay County, Mr. Brooks had lived in Oxford for 30 years and was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church.
