Anniston Star
Services for Albert J. Brooks, 74, of Delta were Saturday at Benefield Funeral 
Chapel with the Rev. Wylie Sprayberry and the Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. 
Burial was in in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Mr. Brooks died Thursday at his residence 
after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myrtie Brooks a daughter, 
Mrs. Kitha Lou Clark of Delta; two sons, Alfred Brooks of Wedowee and Marcus J. 
Brooks of Delta a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Shaddix of Anniston; two brothers, Jo 
Brooks of Oxford and Knox Brooks of Anniston; seven grandchildren and three 
greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be Dennis Green, Theron G. Shaddix, Jerry 
Patterson, Jerry Key, Johnny Summerlin and Jimmy Suggs. Mr. Brooks was a native 
of Randolph County and had lived in Clay County most of his life. He was a 
retired farmer and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
