Oscar L. Brooks, 73, of Delta, Rt. 2, died Tuesday at 11:05 p.m. at Lineville Nursing Home after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Barfield Baptist Church with the Revs. Olney Moody and Dee Hurst officiating. Blair Brown-Service of Lineville is in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lera Wilson Brooks; seven daughters, Mrs. Lucille Parker and Mrs. Rudene Luker oi Delta, Mrs. Mavis Morris of Jesup, Mrs. Merle Young of Ashland, Mrs. Betty Ashley of Doraville, Mrs. Avis Luker of Anniston and Mrs. Wilma Newsome of Pascagoula, four sons, Arnold, Baron and Gerald Brooks of Anniston and Avery Brooks of Heflin; four brothers; two sisters; 29 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Mr. Brooks was a native of Clay County and a veteran of World War I.
