Alexander City Outlook
V. D. Brooks, age 66, passed away Saturday night, June 28, at his home in Wadley 
after an illness of three He was well known in Alexand er City and had many 
friends. Funeral services were held last Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the 
Motley Union Church, Rev. Hunt and Rev. Tapley officiating. Interment was in the 
adjoining Sam Anderson in charge. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Etta Brooks; three 
sons, V. D. Brooks, Jr, J. W. and, Marion Brooks, all of Wadley; five daughters; 
Mrs. E. B. Montgomery, Alexander City, Mrs. Lonnie Patterson, Harpersville, Mrs. 
Guy Mattox, Alexander City, Miss Edna Brooks, Wadley and Miss Mary Ann Brooks, 
Wadley. Active pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.
