Clay County Advance
Uncle John Brown an old beloved veteran served m the Mexican war died at his home 
here on the 3rd inst. He leaves quite a number of children and grandchildren and 
a host of friends to mourn his loss. He was a remarkable man in many respects, a 
man who wanted to owe no man, but love him.
