Had she lived till August she would have been 99 years of age. Mrs. Brown was born and reared in South Carolina and came to Alabama in early life. She has resided most of her life within the present boundary of Clay County. Her husband died during the Civil War and only three children survive her two, daughters and a son. Besides Mrs. Cole, they are Mrs. A. J. Webb of Ashland and Mr. Patrick Brown of Sulligent. The deceased was a member of the Methodist church and an excellent type of Christian womanhood who served well her day and generation. Her remains were interred the Shiloh cemetery Wednesday afternoon. Our Mountain Home: Mrs. Nancy Brown died Wednesday, five miles East of here. She was almost 99 years old, yet she was active until a few days before her death. Funeral services were held at Shiloh Baptist church, hem conducted by Rev. F.M. Ingram. The body was buried in the church cemetery.
