Ashland Progress
Funeral services were held Monday at County Line for Mrs. C. L. Brown who died 
Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S.C. Mattox, in Alexander City. The 
service was con ducted by Rev. F. J. Ingram, assisted by Rev. E. E. Laney. Mrs.
Brown formerly resided in Clay County and was the mother of Mrs. N. D. Parsons 
of the Ray's Crossroads community. She was 73 years of age.

Alexander City Outlook:
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Brown, aged 73, died at the residence here Sunday, August 6. 
Funeral services were conducted at County Line church Monday, August 7, with 
burial in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Frank Ingram, of Ashland, officiating, 
Cantrell directing. Mrs. Brown is survived by one son, E. C. Brown, of route 4, 
and two daughters, Mrs. S. C. Mattox, route 1 and Mrs. N. D. Parsons, of Ashland 
route 1
