Bruce. On last Saturday he went to Lineville meeting. Before he left the village, he was somewhat under the influence of whiskey, he went home Saturday night. Sunday, he renewed his drinking, During the day it is said that he abused his wife and children saying he intended to kill them all. He seemed to be raving all day. Finally, about 9 o'clock at night he decided that he would commence the slaughter by cutting the throat of his oldest boy a youth about seventeen, but small to his age. It seems that the boy had been evading his father all day. The father at last at attacked the boy with an open knife. The boy ran out of the house carrying a gun with him. As the father came out in pursuit of the boy, he leveled his gun and fired. The father was hit in the left breast and at once turned back into the house and died on a bed in a few moments. These are the particulars has been given to us.
