James Burdette passed away to a better world. At this time of his death, he was in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Garland L. Kellum. He was 72 years of age, he lived a Christian life for many years, being a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services for the deceased were held at Cragford Baptist Church, Tuesday at 11:00 o'clock, with Rev. O. C. Nichols, pastor officiating with Revs W.L. Sprayberry, R. E. Birchfield, S. C. Ray assisting. Interment was in the Cragford cemetery, with Blair in charge. He leaves to mourn his passing, his widow, three sons, Minton, and Garrell of Cragford; Malcolm of Lineville; four daughters, Mrs. Marcus Moncus, Mrs. Etheridge Kelley, Mrs. Garland L. Kellum of Cragford and Mrs. Sam Taunton of Malone. Eighteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren. A host of friends and other relatives. Pallbearers were Charles Eason, Forrest, Hoyt, Branon and William Burdette.
