Ashland Progress
Mrs. Hattie Lee Perkins Burgess, Talladega, Rt 4, passed away at Citizens 
Hospital, Talladega, March 13th. The funeral services were held in Blair Funeral 
Home Chapel, March 15th, conducted by Rev. A. A. Jacobs. The body was laid to 
rest in the Pleasant Grove cemetery, with Blair in charge. She is survived by her 
husband, C. W. Burgess, one daughter, Mrs. Ola Hamlin, Lineville Rt. four sons, 
C. Manchester, W. R. Jay, Buner, Talladega Rt 4, L. Ashland Rt. Fifteen 
grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren. One great-great grandchild. Pallbearers 
were her grandsons, W. Billy, James and Herman Burgess, William and Walter 
Hamlin.
