Ashland Progress
Arthur Jefferson Burkhalter was born October 4, 1888, and passed away April 18, 
1947. Last rites for the deceased were held April 20. Rev. Grady Birchfield 
assisted by Rev. W.L. Sprayberry. Interment was in the Prospect cemetery. He 
united with Prospect Baptist Church in 1935 and remained a faithful member to the 
end. He is survived by four sons, daughters, two brothers and two grandchildren. 
Pallbearers were Goode Burkhalter, Willie Burkhalter, Northern Burkhalter, Noah 
Burkhalter, Billy Burkhalter and Neron Burkhalter. Blair in charge.
