Lineville Headlight
Mrs. Rhoda Spence Burkhead died at her home four miles east of Lineville Sunday, 
November 1, and her remains were interred the following day at Pleasant Hill 
cemetery. She was born in Coweta County, Ga. removed with her husband, J.H. 
Burkhead, to this county in 1858; and at the time of her death was more than 80 
years of age. She was married to J. H. Burkhead in 1844 and eleven children were 
born, to them, eight of whom are now living. Her husband, who died last year, was 
more than 80 years of age at the time of his death. She was a consistent member 
of the M. E. church and was a woman of much culture, fine sense and deep piety. 
She lived to a ripe old age and was held in the greatest esteem by all who knew 
her.
