Lineville Headlight
Allen Burney, a well-knowns negro of this community, was shot and killed by 
Cicero Chappell, another negro, at Henry Boyd's place, four miles east town, on 
July 4th. It is said that the two negroes "fell out" about a negro woman. 
Chappell made his escape and has not yet been apprehended. There is a report 
current that after killing Allen Burney the said Cicero Chappell went on to 
Randolph County and shot and killed his wife.
