He was found by two small neighbor boys, Harold and Leon Caldwell. An investigation by Sheriff R. Y. Gilbert and Clay County Solicitor W.C. Dempsey revealed a small wound above his right ear but not sufficient to cause death. Mr. Caldwell was last seen by his nephew, Leonard Caldwell. Saturday afternoon when he found his uncle in his home alone asleep. The investigation showed Mr. Caldwell had been dead several hours when found. Mr. Caldwell lived alone in his own home. He had farmed for many years. He is survived by two brothers Arthur T. Caldwell, Stonewall W. Caldwell and one sister Mrs. Calvin Harris, Route 1. Cragford. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Gilead Church Monday at 11 o'clock. The Rev. Reuben Birchfield officiated. Blair Funeral Home was in charge and burial was in the church cemetery.
