Ted R Caldwell 55 of Rt 3 Wedowee Ala died in an automobile accident Tuesday 
morning near his home. Funeral and burial will be 2 pm today at Mount Olive 
according to Benefield Funeral Home Lineville Ala Mr. Caldwell was born in Clay 
County Ala Jan 15, 1920, son of the late G.A. Caldwell and Elizabeth Wright 
Caldwell. He had been the assistant manager at the commissary at Fort Benning 
for 20 years and was working for the Clay County Road Department for the past 
seven years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Corinth Baptist 
Church, Cragford Lodge No 390 & AM, Valley of Columbus Scottish Rite Bodies and 
Al Sihah Shrine Temple of Columbus. Survivors include his wife Ila Caldwell 
Wedowee two sons Bobby Caldwell Columbus, Rayburn Caldwell Phenix City Ala, a 
daughter Mrs. Sandra Fergusen Phenix City, six grandchildren three brothers and 
a sister.
