Roanoke Leader
George Augustus Caldwell, 72, resident of Malone, passed away in a local hospital 
Sunday morning, July 14. Besides his wife, Mrs. Nancy Wright Caldwell, he is 
survived by five sons: T. R. and B.B. of Malone, Rt. 1, Jerrell and Freeman, of 
Cragford, and J. B. Caldwell, of Wadley; two daughters: Mrs. E. J. Childers, of 
Cragford, and Mrs. W. B. Kellum, of Wadley; 21 grandchildren, four sisters, and 
three brothers. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Gilead, 
Sikesville, the Rev. S. C. Ray officiating. Interment was in the churchyard 
cemetery, with Quattlebaum's Funeral Home directing.
