R. Campbell, a native of Clay County, died at 3 :15 p. m., March 26th, at the residence of J. A. McClusky. The deceased was comparatively a stranger in Talladega, having been here but a short time, employed as foreman of a rock quarry by the N. A. C. & I. Co. Mr. Campbell was an excellent young man and his popularity among his acquaintances was to an extent that is not the privilege of everyone to enjoy. He was highly esteemed by the officers and men of the Talladega Rifles of which he was a member. The remains were taken to the young man's home in Clay County for interment.
