Ashland Progress
Mrs. Martha Barton Campbell, 87 years of age, died Sunday at her home at 
Campbell's Crossroads after a lingering illness. Mrs. Campbell was the wife of J. 
R. Campbell and was well known and highly esteemed in the community in which she 
had resided most all of her long life. She was for 68 years a member of the 
Mineral Springs Methodist church, having united with the church the same year she 
was married to Mr. Campbell. The deceased was a sister of T. S. Barton of 
Ashland. Funeral services were held at the church on Monday afternoon, conducted 
by Rev. F. J. Ingram, after which interment was made in the church cemetery.
