Ashland Progress
Wednesday, July 31, Mrs. Mary Jane Carpenter, at the ripe old age of 93 was 
called by the Death Angel to her home with her Savior. Interment was in the 
Macedonia cemetery on August 1st.  Funeral services were conducted by Elder 
Finley assisted by Elders H. H. Goodman and Shaddix. She is survived by five sons 
and five daughters J. R. Carpenter of Winter Garden, J. T. Carpenter of 
Pensacola, R. B. Carpenter of Louisville, E. J. Carpenter of Bynum; W. E. 
Carpenter of Lineville; Mrs. C. Smith of Lineville; Mrs. G. T. House of 
Birmingham Mrs. Pruet of Dadeville; Mrs. John Shaddix of Eastaboga; Mrs. R. W. 
Shaddix of Talladega. There are fifty-four grandchildren, sixty great 
grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren. Blair was in charge.
