Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church with Elder B. B. Finley and Elder W. B. Denney officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rosa Carpenter; four daughters, Mrs. Elaine Baeird of Roanoke, Miss Sherry Lynn Miss Donna Maria Carpenter, and Miss Lisa Ann Carpenter, all of Wedowee, and a son, Mike Carpenter of Wedowee; two sisters, Mrs. Bovine Nunnally of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Myrtle Lea Dawkins of Ashland; three brothers, Loftin Carpenter of Anniston, Willie Roy Carpenter of Alexandria, and David P. Carpenter of Tampa, Fla. Mr. Carpenter was a member and deacon of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church and an employe of Alabama Power Co. A native of Clay County, he had lived in Wedowee 16 years.
