Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Mr. William Edward Carpenter, 79, were held in the Concord 
Baptist Church on March 8th, 11 o'clock a.m., conducted by the Reverends L. L. 
Allen, Bobby Allen and Billy Aden. Interment was in church cemetery. Mr. 
Carpenter passed away in Hospital Alexander City on March 6th, after a period 
declining health. This is the second member of ae Carpenter family to pass within 
the las; few weeks. The deceased is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. L. L. 
Allen, Rockford; a brother, R. L. Carpenter of Ashland; two sisters, Mrs. Bea 
Todd of Ashland and Mrs. Garfield Haynes of Anniston.
