Carter (Sarah Jane Elder) were conducted from the Union Church in Clay County Wednesday, with interment in Union Cemetery. Blair of Lineville was in charge. Grandsons, Azelle Carter, Clinton Gregg, Clarence Gregg, Truman Carter, J. B. Carter, Jr., and A. Z. Carter were pallbearers. Granddaughters were flower girls. They were Mrs. Bera Strickland, Winnie Carter, Myrtice Carter, Excell Turner, Virginia Carr and Racine Carter. Mrs. Carter, who would have been 67 years of age Christmas Day. died at her residence at Pyriton Tuesday. Surviving are five sons, Joseph B. carter, Oxford; Jamea H. Pisgah; Richard Wych. and John W. Pyriton, and A. Z., Opelika; two daughters, Mrs. Lewie L. Gregg and Mrs. Belle Odessa Turner, Oxford: 23 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
