Hale St., in Oxford, died Tuesday night at 11:30 o'clock at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 pm at the Oxford Church of Christ with Clark Sosebee officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Clay County with Gray Brown- Service Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Survivors include three sons, Ira Truman and Joseph B. Carter, Jr., both of Oxford and Kenneth Eugene Carter of Anniston; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Pence of Delta; Mrs. Winna Lou Hartfield of San Bernadino, Calif., and Mrs. Ora Mertice Walden of Oxford; three brothers, Harrison Carter of Jamestown and Whit and Wych Carter, both of Anniston, two sisters, Mrs. Leslie Gregg of Anniston and Mrs. Odessa Turner of Oxford; and 11 grandchildren. Mr. Carter had been a resident of Oxford for the past 40 years and was a member of the Oxford Church of Christ.
