Anniston Star
Mrs. Silonia Phillips Carter, 85, of Rossville, Ga., died Tuesday in a Rossville 
nursing home after a long illness. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. 
at Gray Brown-Service chapel with Howard Humphries officiating. Burial will be in 
Bethel cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jeannie Carter Britt of 
Rossville; three sons, Marvin Carter of Pensacola, Fla., Novel Carter of Oxford, 
and Chester Carter of Anniston; a sister, Mrs. Lunar Cotton of Waco, Tex.; two 
brothers, Lester Phillips of Anniston, and Daniel Phillips of Delta. Mrs. 
Phillips was a native of Oxford and lived in Rossville the past 25 years.
