Services are scheduled for today at 3 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Eli Landrum officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Miller Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Essie Carter; two daughters, Mrs. James Whitley of Oxford and Mrs. M. L. Allen of Anniston; a sister, Mrs. Floyd Britt of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two brothers, Novle Carter of Oxford and Marvin Carter of Pensacola, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Miss Elizabeth Whitley of Oxford, and Ronald Allen and Stanley Allen, both of Anniston. Pallbearers will be Harvell Sims, Robert Howell, Carnell Haynes, Slep Easterwood, Frank Sewell and S. J. McCullough, Heston Dial and Excell Dial. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Delta Masonic Lodge. Mr. Carter was a native of Clay County and had lived in Calhoun County the past four years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and Delta Masonic Lodge.
