Alexander City Outlook
Funeral services for Hobert J. Cheaney, who passed away at his late residence in 
Alexander City, after a prolonged illness, were held Monday afternoon at 3:30 
o'clock from the Trinity Baptist Church in Clay County; Rev. W. L. Denny, 
assisted by Rev. Bruce Freeman, Henry Alford and Rev. Birchfield officiating. 
Besides his widow, Mrs. Leona Cheaney, the deceased is survived by one daughter, 
Mrs. Frank Doodruff, Alexander City; father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. 
Cheaney, of Clay County, and four brothers, C. H., J. W., K. E. and D. H. 
Cheaney, all of Clay county; one sister, Mrs. Cora Gilbert Pallbearers were: C. 
H. Cheaney, J. W. Cheaney, K. E. Cheaney, D. H. Cheaney, F. W. Woodruff, J. L. 
Grant R. L. Kilgore and J. W. Hamlet, interment in Bethany cemetery, Sam 
Anderson Funeral Home in charge.
