Ashland Progress
Mr. W. M. Childs, highly respected citizen of the Cragford community died at his 
home Wednesday afternoon following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 
at New Hope at 2 p.m. today, conducted by Revs. Sprayberry and Weldon. Burial 
will be in the New Hope cemetery with Blair in charge. The deceased is survived 
by six sons, Jim of Bessemer; E. A. of Knoxville, W. S. of Cragford, C. C. of 
Malone, R. C. E. of Ashland, Route 2, and Evans of Opp; and two daughters, Mrs. 
Will Wilson of Florida, and Mrs. Obie Lynch of Malone, Route 1.
