A. Childs, 65, former Rural carrier of Cragford Route 1, died Monday, July 24th, in Fort Saunders hospital, Knoxville, Tenn. Mr. Childs transferred from Cragford to Fountain City, Tenn. some years ago. He had retired early in the year as rural earner, due to ill health. Funeral services were held at Cragford Baptist Church Wednesday, July 26th, with the Rev. J. D. Pickens pastor of the Lineville Baptist church and the Masons in charge. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Elbert S. of Fountain City, Lt. Leonard W. somewhere in the Pacific, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Hughes, Cleveland, Mrs. James Finley Fountain City and three grandchildren, four brothers, W. S. Cragford, J. E. Bessemer, C. E. Ashland, and C.C. LaGrange, and two sisters, Mrs. W. M. Wilson, Columbus, and Mrs. Oby Lynch Malone, Route 1.
