Childs died at her home near Cragford. Aug. 23rd. last. She lived 53 years 6 months and 8 days, 28 years of which she was a member of the Baptist church. Her entire life was spent in one locality. She was the mother of 9 children all present at her death except the oldest son in Oklahoma and one daughter in South Georgia. Though a good neighbor, wife, friend and Christian, her greatest power was shown in the noble like traits of her children. Just before the final stroke, which was sudden though she had suffered for ten years, she talked freely of, death to her husband. Funeral services were conducted at New Hope church by Revs. W. M. Worthy, T.D. Dawkins, B. F. Pearce, her pastor, and the writer. The floral offerings were many and the family is grateful to her many friends for the kindness shown her and them. O. C. D.
